Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs, the third adventure in the popular animated franchise about our spirited prehistoric heroes, is an enormously entertaining film that literally comes to life in 3D. In exactly the same vein as the previous films, this one too is centred around the importance of friends and family.

ce Age: Dawn Of The Dinosaurs is familiar and comforting, it's a visual spectacle and one roller-coaster adventure you don't want your kids to miss. I'm going with four out of five. Grab your 3D glasses now!

The franchise carries on showcasing its brilliant art work, its warm and vibrant characters and its straight-from-the-heart story of team spirit and survival, of not only the fittest, but the weakest too. Yes, Ice Age 3 is a fitting sequel to the animal saga that turned out to be a moving human parable when it was first released in 2002. Excellent in 3-D and eminently watchable in 2-D too, Ice Age 3 is indeed alluring fare for the family.

Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs could possibly be the only truly kiddie movie to unspool at a multiplex over the months to come. Take the tykes, make them wear the 3D glasses and hope that they are captivated enough by the imagery on screen to avoid asking questions for the duration of the flick. Because if that fails, you're going to feel slightly cross-eyed, and somewhat unsatisfied, by the time the end credits roll.

If there was one word to describe this movie, it would probably be "Yabadabadoo! "

As a matter of fact, Fred Flintstone's catchphrase does appear in the movie when Ellie (voie of Queen Latifah) decides to slide down a veggie dinosaur's neck to escape from the clutches of a carnivorous one. The overprotective Manny (voice of Ray Romano) hesitantly follows suit, lands on his butt and warns his mate: "Don't you ever yabadaba-doo it again!"

Verdict: It might have released tad late for summer, but Ice Age is THE movie to watch this weekend.
