Unlike the earlier film which married spectacular visual effects with a witty plot, the sequel raises the ante in the effects department, but fails to deliver even a half-comprehensible storyline.Clocking in at an insanely long 149 minutes, and culminating in a ridiculous climax in Egypt, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is ultimately for those with a high threshold for pain.I’m going with one out of five and a thumbs-down. Bigger doesn’t necessarily mean better; that much is clear.

You don't have to watch every big-budget movie of questionable quality that saunters into your neighbourhood multiplex. So do yourself a favour and read a book or something. The sooner audiences stop supporting expensive firecrackers like this, the sooner filmmakers around the world will be forced to think of ways to entertain people that don't consist solely of gratuitous explosions, slow-motion cleavage, confusing digital gimmickry and lame attempts at comedy.

It surprises me that ‘Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen’ was even compared to Terminator Salvation, the latter being way superior in terms of everything – script, special effects, performance, photography, et al.The humans are less in quantity compared to robots but are far more interesting than the robots who populate and pollute the film. Except for few funny moments for 15-year-olds (a tiny robot humps Fox’s leg) there is nothing really impressive about the film. The tiring length of the film adds to the disappointment.

Much as I hate to say this, the first part of Transformers was so much better. For one, there was far less mumbo-jumbo happening there.Even more ridiculous is how this supposedly 'classified' mission is known to everyone in the world. I don't even want to know how they plan to explain the ripping of the pyramids. But I do hope that no pyramids were damaged during the making of this movie. If humping robots and mindless action please you, watch this movie
