How much you enjoy Kambakkht Ishq is directly proportionate to just how low your standards have fallen. This battle-of-the-sexes saga starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor is a loud, vulgar and seriously offensive film that has reportedly been made at a price of Rs 60 crore. In that much money, you could feed an entire starving nation.I'm going with one out of five for director Sabbir Khan's Kambakkht Ishq. Think of it as Welcome or Singh Is Kinng but about twenty times more tasteless.

Kambakkht Ishq hits an all-new low in several departments. First, it could easily win the award for the silliest story-line for sure. And here we come to the second abysmal point. Never has a Hindi film script ever been so derogatory towards women.Silly point number three: the Hollywood connection is a complete sham.If Superman Brandon Routh and Holly Valance have a split second role, then Denise Richards and Sylvester Stallone are just eye candy.Surely, it take more than Jimmy Choo, Prada, Versace and LA to make a film that can tickle and entertain. Million dollar looks and a multi-crore budget can't make up for characters and a kahaani.

To sum up, KAMBAKKHT ISHQ offers you value for time and also, value for money. It offers loads of entertainment in those 2 + hours, loads of glamour in those 130 odd minutes, from start to end. Sure, there are blemishes, but they're trivial when you look at the larger picture. On the whole, KAMBAKKHT ISHQ will strike a chord with the youth and those who relish zany and madcap entertainers. The first half is tremendous, while the second half takes a dip, with the film picking up towards the climax. At the box-office, the film will see an earth-shattering opening weekend and a historic Week 1.

Kambakkht Ishq is a painfully excessive work of burlesque, one so dragged down by the nauseating combination of toilet humour and lazy screenwriting that it makes American Pie look like Brokeback Mountain in comparison. Nope, Kambakkht Ishq is a weak, often revoltingly cheap film that serves merely as aspirin-seller or hangover-simulation.We can't be expected to actually pay for this monstrosity. We do, with our money, our time and our expectations -- and we're served up a hideous bit of cinematic buffoonery.

The heroine adds that men have no IQ. Director Sabbir Khan either believes the same for his audience or is the species of men that the heroine is referring to. That’s because he treats the film with such childish cheekiness that you are amazed by the audacity with which the film offends the idea of entertainment. How one wishes producer Sajid Nadiadwala would have shown more consideration for a sane... rather some storyline than investing millions on highlighting Hollywood. In clear verdict this is one Dumb-akkht Ishq of a film!

It would be unfair to write off Kambakkht Ishq as a disappointment. Problem is, there's just nothing new in it. It's much better than CC2C - at par with Singh Is Kinng and Heyy Babyy - but not a patch on Welcome and Bhool Bhulaiya.Glossy packaging and style try hard to make up for the lack of substance. But then again, if you expected any more from Akshay - The joke's on you.

All this and many more utterly pathetic sequences is what this painfully torturous film is made of. So is it high on entertainment? Nope, just a couple of laugh worthy sms jokes, that's about it.Akshay Kumar tries hard, his comic timing is good but is terribly let down by poor direction and the script. To sum up, Kambakkht Ishq is one film that might rake in the moolah at the box-office but is a film that shouldn't have been made. How I wish all the money wasted on this trash, was actually spent on hiring some good writers.

Not everyone can entertain while being loud and that's why Kambakkht Ishq , starring Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor, is as far from entertaining as the North Pole is from the South. But the plot has such gaping holes that a train can disappear through it.Kareena asks Akshay in a scene, 'How low can you go?'This film is the answer.
